You can track our progress by clicking here.  We will update our position each night via a Spot GPS messenger.

Basically our plan is to take the Northern Tier route from the Adventure Cycling Association (ACA) from Minneapolis to Anacortes, WA, via Fargo and Glacier National Park.  From there we will follow the coast down to San Francisco, then cut over to Yosemite.  We will then follow the Sierras down to Mexico.  This will be the site of a sorrowful farewell, as Keith, Tom, and Joe will turn back and return to their lives as Cooper and Christopher continue their trek down south.

We will bike down the Baja peninsula, then ferry over to mainland Mexico, probably from La Paz.  Then we will follow the Panamerican highway down the rest of Central America, though we will take sideroads when possible.  In Panama we will face an obstacle, as the border between Panama and Colombia is impassable.  We will have to find passage on a ship to avoid a 100 mile strip of jungle, known as the Darien Gap.

Once in South America, we will follow the Andes through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and finally Argentina.  This is looking upwards of a year into the future, so many of the details may change, but this is our plan as we set out on our journey.
